Club Results: BC Masters Indoor Championship

The 2024 BC Masters Indoor Championship were held at the Kamloops Indoor Stadium on August 8 and 9.

A total number of 60 masters athletes took part with 36 males and 24 female athletes.

There were only two throwing events scheduled being an indoor meet. These were Shot Put and Weight throw.

Four Ultra Throw Club members participated. Their performances were praiseworthy, results of which were as follows:

• Dave McDonald (70–74)
             - Weight Throw         - Gold Medal
  (He broke the existing BC Masters indoor Weight Throw record of 15.81 M with a throw of 16.19 M)

• Jaswinder PANNU (65–69)
               - Shot Put                - Gold Medal
               - Weight Throw      - Gold Medal

• Mohan Bains (70–74)
               - Shot Put               - Gold Medal
               - Weight Throw      - Silver Medal.

• Harnek Toor (75–79)
               - Shot Put                 - Gold Medal
               - Weight Throw        - Gold Medal

Performances of our members dominated the field in both the throws and they have done our Club proud. Our heartiest congratulations to each one of them and wish them good hunting in the outdoor competitions at the BC, Canadian and the World Masters level ahead during the year.

Ultra Throw team members, Gabriella Moro and Andrew Arthur attended a workshop in Kamloops in 2016 led by Dylan Armstrong.

"Dylan Armstrong is a Canadian shot putter. He is a two-time Pan American Games champion, a former Commonwealth Games champion and has also won world championship silver and bronze medals. He was awarded the bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics seven years after the event in 2015." - Wikipedia
